Dim Sum Classic: Steamed Turnip Cake

Steamed Turnip Cake, or Steamed Radish Cake, or in Chinese "Lo Bak Go", is a popular savory rice cake typically served pan-fried and dipped in hot sauces or chili crisps. It is a classic dim sum item year-round, but especially popular during Chinese New Year because the turnip is in season. There are many different ways to make this cake, join this class to learn a simplified, no-grating method that past students have claimed to be “the best tasting turnip cake they have ever eaten”! During this class, you’ll learn to steam the cake in the traditional way, but also my family's recipe of making a pan-fried version without steaming. This class can be made vegan and gluten-free.
